Educators traveled from as far away as Steamboat and Colorado Springs to attend this important workshop. Chris Bryan and Joellen Killion did a masterful job of guiding participants through the new Standards for Professional Learning. We engaged in several small group activities that helped educators understand the standards and how critical they are for all educators.
The standards make explicit that the purpose of professional learning is for educators to develop the knowledge, skills, practices and dispositions they need to help students perform at higher levels. The standards focus on one critical issue: professional learning. They are the foundation for all effective professional leaning.
We were a small, but mighty group, as we collectively learned with and from each other. With the guidance of Joellen and Chris, participants left the workshop with a much deeper understanding of the new professional learning standards.
