Educators from around the state attended an excellent workshop, Understanding the Nature of Conflict in Schools facilitated by Heather Clifton on January 13th. Participants came from Greeley, Aurora, Douglas County, & Jeffco, as well as Hertzl Lower School. it was an outstanding day of learning and networking.
Heather is a master at balancing content, process and context. Participants learned three different protocols for dealing with conflict. They examined strategies for reframing conflict, turning it into a resource for productive outcomes, solutions, and decisions. In addition they worked on developing specific skills for preventing or reducing conflict and methods for restoring relationships of trust when conflict has negatively influenced the culture.
