2019 Highlights of British Columbia Professional Learning Tour
June 2-8, 2019
A collaboration between Learning Forward Colorado
and EF GoAhead Tours, a division of EF Education First
This custom Learning Forward Colorado tour of British Columbia will afford educators the opportunity to explore the beautiful province of British Columbia, Canada, where the National Learning Forward Conference was hosted in December of 2016. At the conference, several keynote speakers addressed how British Columbia is working to implement a more effective professional learning system that supports their educators in preparing students for a global economy. Their shifts are outlined in various reports including Beyond PD and The State of Educators’ Professional Learning in Canada. These reports will be brought to life on this study tour as Colorado educators visit local schools, participate in discussions at the Ministry of Education and interact with local students and educational leaders including those from the British Columbia Education Collaborative and the Learning Forward British Columbia affiliate. These experiences will provide a platform for members to respond to what Michael Fullan and Andy Hargreaves refer to as a “call to action” for educators. Be a part of this call to action, consider shifts that will support our students, and move our profession forward!
